If you’re still looking for that perfect January 6th anniversary gift, look no further as Donald Trump’s 1997 Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster is going up for auction.
Set to go under the hammer at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale event, the supercar is one of a kind as “Trump was allowed to custom-order this Diablo because of a special relationship with Lamborghini, which provided him with some ‘loaner’ Diablos for … promotional purposes.”
Thanks to this reported partnership, the future president was able to order his car with a Blu Le Mans paint job, which wasn’t officially available in 1997. That isn’t the only custom touch as the car has a “Donald Trump 1997 Diablo” plaque installed on the driver side door.

Trump ordered the car new and held onto it until the summer of 2002. It has been owned by two other people since then and only has 24,836 km (15,432 miles) on the odometer. However, the listing notes that CarFax says there is a “mileage inconsistency.”
If you can put that aside, you’re looking at an interesting piece of history with a mid-mounted 5.7-liter V12 engine producing 492 hp (367 kW / 499 PS) and 430 lb-ft (582 Nm) of torque. It’s connected to a five-speed manual, which sends power to the ground via an all-wheel drive system. This setup enables the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 4.1 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 202 mph (325 km/h).
The listing doesn’t say much else about the car, but it’s being sold without reserve and comes with literature, tool bags, and a cover. The vehicle also appears to be in good shape as the paint job and five-spoke wheels look virtually brand new.
Moving inside, we can see a two-tone interior with an analog clock as well as a digital climate controller. They’re joined by an Alpine audio system and an H-gate shifter.
There’s no auction estimate, but the car was one of 132 produced for the United States between 1997 and 1999. That makes it rare even before the Trump connection.
