Vietnamese car manufacturer VinFast has opened the doors to five dealerships across the United States as it looks to establish itself as a legitimate player in the nation’s EV space.
The new dealerships consist of Leith VinFast in Raleigh, North Carolina, Smith Haven VinFast in St. James, New York, Principle VinFast Grapevine in Grapevine, Texas, Hiley VinFast of Fort Worth in Fort Worth, Texas, and VinFast Wichita in Wichita, Kansas.
The first model to be sold by these dealerships will be the VF 8 all-electric SUV but the manufacturer also intends on launching the VF 6, VF 7, and VF 9 locally. While VinFast’s models have not yet been well received by the American consumer, the company is offering a very competitive 10-year/125,000-mile warranty on its vehicles as well as a 10-year unlimited mileage warranty for the battery.
“This is an important step affirming VinFast’s commitment to expanding its retail sales network and shortening the time to deliver our products to market,” VinFast Global deputy chief executive of sales and marketing, Tran Mai Hoa said. “Collaboration with dealers allows VinFast to quickly bring US customers high-quality electric vehicles, good prices and excellent aftersales policies, further promoting our mission of a sustainable future for all.”

VinFast commenced sales of the VF 8 in California a year ago through a direct-to-consumer model. It has since adopted a franchised dealership model, which will operate alongside direct sales. The store in Raleigh, North Carolina is particularly important as it is located near the site where VinFast is building a massive assembly plant that will become operational in 2025.
“We are very excited to be one of the first VinFast dealers in the US and the very first in North Carolina, particularly alongside the VinFast’s groundbreaking automobile manufacturing plant,” Leith Automotive Group chief operating officer Danny Williams added. “After interacting with VinFast’s executive team and experiencing their vehicles firsthand, we were captivated by the brand and knew it was a perfect addition to the Leith Automotive Group.”
