Vietnamese manufacturer VinFast held nothing back at CES this week, introducing not only its VF 3 mini eSUV but also surprising many with the unveiling of the Wild Pickup concept. While these two vehicles were the highlights for the brand at CES, it also elected to use the Las Vegas show to unveil its new electric bike, dubbed the DrgnFly.

VinFast says the DrgnFly’s name is inspired by the image of an ascending dragon, with the bike to go on sale in the U.S. priced from $2,800. It comes standard with a two-year, unlimited mileage warranty.

The design of the DrgnFly is a little different than other electric bikes out there thanks to VinFast working with Danish design studio Eskild Hansen. It takes inspiration from the “golden era of motorcycles” and has a V-shaped frame, wide handlebars, balloon tires, and is constructed from lightweight aluminum.

VinFast Wants To Crack Into The E-Bike Market With The DrgnFly

Powering the DrgnFly is a 750-watt electric motor integrated into the rear wheel, taking power from a detachable lithium-ion battery. It can hit up to 28 mph (45 km/h) and travel up to 63 miles (102 km) on a single charge. VinFast hasn’t specified the capacity of the battery nor has it mentioned how quickly it can be recharged.

Customers will also be pleased to learn that the DrgnFly includes a 4G connection and a companion app that includes a remote locking function, bike locator, ride statistic records, and remote diagnostics. The bike also supports over-the-air updates.

“VinFast’s DrgnFly is not just an e-bike, it is a lifestyle option for modern users who seek to express their personality,” VinFast deputy chief executive of sales and marketing Tran Mai Hoa said. “With its unique design and a wide range of smart technologies, the DrgnFly offers a safe yet unique and accessible mobility option for everyone.”
