While the idea of spending over $500,000 on a Porsche from 1958 may seem less crazy than say a decade ago, a 356A rebuilt and modified by Emory Motorsports has hit the market and that’s what it is expected to sell for.

Emory purchased the car in 2021 and over two years, worked tirelessly to transform it into the spectacular creation you see before you. The 356A’s original bodywork was stripped back to the bare metal before the firm altered the shape of some of the panels, including the front end. It was then sprayed in a beautiful shade of metallic blue and equipped with a black soft top.

Adding to the appeal is a set of 16-inch billet aluminum wheels, while the classic Porsche has also been fitted with ventilated disc brakes at all four corners. There’s also a lot to like about the cabin of the Porsche as it is now trimmed in Hydes cognac leather with fixed-back bucket seats, black rubber floor mats, a wooden shift knob, a three-spoke steering wheel, and a Bluetooth audio system.

In transforming this 356A, Emory has overhauled the engine. Lift the lid and you’ll find a new 2.6-liter flat-four engine from Rothsport Racing with individual throttle bodies, pumping out a claimed 260 hp. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission.

The listing over at Bring a Trailer notes the car has been driven just 700 miles (1,126 km) since its transformation. Here’s to hoping the next owner will add a lot more miles to it, as it looks to be an absolute blast to drive and the sounds it makes are simply perfect.
