The Chinese invasion of Europe continues as the Seres 3 will arrive in the United Kingdom this spring.
Set to be distributed by IA Electric Vehicles, the crossover will be priced from £29,995 which means it will undercut the £30,195 BYD Dolphin as well as the £30,495 MG ZS. It will also be cheaper than a number of EVs from European brands.
IA Electric Vehicles didn’t say much about the model, but confirmed the entry-level Active trim will come “generously furnished” with a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, and a keyless ignition. Buyers will also find air conditioning, “leather-style” seats, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The company also implied the crossover will have LED lighting units and 18-inch alloy wheels.
Upgrading to the £31,995 Seres 3 Spirit will reward buyers with heated front seats, a wireless smartphone charger, and a panoramic sunroof. Other highlights include a passive entry system, power folding mirrors, front and rear parking sensors, and an upgraded audio system with six speakers.
Motivation comes from a 54 kWh lithium-ion battery, which powers a motor developing 161 hp (120 kW / 163 PS) and 144 lb-ft (195 Nm) of torque. This setup enables the crossover to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 8.9 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 96 mph (155 km/h).
The Seres 3 is slated to have a combined WLTP range of 205 miles (330 km) and a city range of 315 miles (507 km). When the battery is low, it can go from a 20% to 80% charge in as little as 30 minutes.

On the safety front, there isn’t much to report as you’ll have to upgrade to the Spirit trim just to get cruise control and a lane departure warning system. That’s disappointing, but the standard model has six airbags, stability control, and a tire pressure monitoring system – among other things.
