It’s been three and a half years since Classic Recreations unveiled its jaw-dropping Shelby GT500CR and to kick off 2024, the company is back with another stunning take on the classic Mustang. It is named the Shelby GT500CR Centennial Edition and just 10 units are being built, each priced at $625,000.

Like the restomodder’s original GT500CR, the Centennial Edition’s exterior is dominated by exposed gloss carbon fiber body panels from SpeedKore. These pieces look incredible in photos and we’re sure look even better in person. Classic Recreations has also given the car a red carbon fiber racing strip and a pair of red stripes.

These red elements don’t just look the part but hold a deeper meaning as the Centennial Edition has been built to support the American Heart Association and $100,000 from each of the units sold will be donated to support the association’s Life is Why campaign.

$625,000 Carbon Shelby GT500CR Centennial Edition Is A Heartthrob
Classic Restorations

No restomodded Mustang like this would be complete without a heavily refreshed interior and the GT500CR Centennial Edition has just that. A pair of Caroll Shelby Scat Rally Series 1000 seats are found up front and clad in black leather with red stitching.

Classic Recreations has also fitted a wooden steering wheel, Shelby pedals, gauges with white faces, and a special American Heart Association plaque on the dashboard. The headrests are also embossed with the American Heart Association logo and there is plenty of red contrast stitching found throughout.

Powering the GT500CR is a 5.0-liter Coyote V8 with a Magnuson VMP supercharger, resulting in a cool 800 hp. This engine is mated to a six-speed Tremec T56 transmission driving the rear wheels and if you can find the traction, the car can hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 3.2 seconds and a 189 mph (304 km/h) top speed.

Other important upgrades include Wilwood brakes with six-piston calipers up front and four-piston calipers at the rear, as well as adjustable coilovers in the suspension.
