Legoland in Florida has a striking new attraction dedicated to all things Ferrari and it’s bound to get car and Lego enthusiasts revved up.
The new Lego Ferrari Build & Race Experience will open on March 8 and attendees will be able to create their own Ferrari from Lego and race it against others in a special ‘virtual race zone.’ The highlight of the new attraction is a life-size Ferrari 296 GTS that has been built solely from Lego bricks.
While this isn’t the first full-scale car that we’ve seen made from Lego, it is every bit as impressive as the Bugatti Chiron model unveiled a few years ago. Lego says it took a team of 10 people some 1,850 hours to build the 296 GTS and while it hasn’t specified precisely how many bricks it used, the attention to detail is incredible.

Not only are all the proportions of the car spot-on but it rocks functional headlights, taillights, and even illumination for the rear license plate. It also sits on original Ferrari 296 wheels and the red bricks do a good job of replicating Ferrari’s Rosso Corsa color. The interior is just as detailed as the exterior and includes a combination of beige, brown, and black bricks, as well as a real 296 steering wheel. The Lego builders have also gone to the trouble of crafting the top of the supercar’s 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V6 out of bricks.
All up, the model weighs almost 2 tonnes and Legoland Florida is inviting fans to head over to their Instagram page and comment on how many bricks they think were needed to build it before an official number is announced at a later date.
