MotorTrend+ is going away but don’t worry too hard. The remaining users still on the platform will automatically get migrated to a new service where the content will live on. Those shows include Top Gear America, Roadkill, Texas Metal, Hot Rod Garage, and Kevin Hart’s Muscle Car Crew.
The publication’s foray into the streaming realm will see all of that programming moved over to Discovery+ and Max starting today, February 28th. Between now and the end of March, “thousands of hours of additional content” will continue to move to those platforms. Once that process is complete, MotorTrend+ will “sunset” , says the company.
Warner Brothers says that the “majority” of MotorTrend+ subscribers will be migrated automatically to a Discovery+ ad-free account with no change to their subscription price. They’ll also receive email instructions on how to access their new Discovery+ content. These users will also gain access to content from other networks including TCL, HGTV, and others.

Warner Bros. said nothing about its future plans for specific shows that are moving from MotorTrend+. The streaming service is most known for airing the latest iteration of Top Gear America, which lasted only two seasons. It also features Roadkill, a muscle-car-focused restoration and fabrication show. More recently, it’s leaned into other custom-build shows like Texas Metal, Iron Resurrection, and Graveyard Carz.
This move comes just a few months after MotorTrend itself (along with HOT ROD) went from a monthly print publication to a quarterly one for 2024. Of course, those issues are what the company calls “collector quality” and stuffed with “heaps more”.
