The Chicago Auto Show kicks off on February 8 and Nissan will use the event to introduce the Frontier Forsberg Edition.
The dealer-installed package costs a whopping $9,999 but it transforms the truck into a would-be desert racer. That isn’t a coincidence as the model draws inspiration from the Forsberg Racing Frontier, which recently won the NORRA 500.
The Forsberg Edition package is available on Crew Cab pickups and it adds a NISMO Off-Road lift kit, forged upper control arms, and high-performance shocks. They’re joined by 17-inch Axis beadlock wheels that are wrapped in Yokohama Geolandar X-AT tires.
The upgrades don’t end there as the package also includes rock sliders and a roof rack with integrated LED lights. Other highlights include a NISMO cat-back exhaust as well as Forsberg Racing decals and badging.
The Forsberg Edition package will be available this fall and it can be installed on 2022 and newer Frontiers. However, those looking to get it installed on a 2024 model will be out at least $41,069.
More: Nissan Ariya Becomes First EV To Travel From North Pole To South Pole
Besides the off-road package, Nissan will show the Pole to Pole Ariya in the Windy City. The electric crossover recently became the first vehicle to travel from the North Pole to the South Pole.
That’s a trek of over 18,000 miles (28,968 km) and the journey was completed in ten months by Chris and Julie Ramsey. The powertrain was stock, but the Ariya was equipped with a revised suspension, wider fender flares, and 39-inch BF Goodrich tires for driving on snow and ice.
