The Porsche 911 GT3 RS is a track monster, but like many ultra-powerful exotics, it demands an added level of attention and restraint when navigating public roads. Without it, one risks being entangled in a costly collision, as evidenced by this incident from Spain that’s been circulating on social media today.

According to an Instagram post, the driver of this wrecked 911 GT3 RS reportedly veered off-road while attempting to overtake. The vehicle can be seen resting in a ditch, exhibiting heavy damage to the front bumper and with its airbags deployed.

Judging from the surrounding terrain and the Porsche‘s minimal ground clearance, significant underbody scraping likely occurred. Fortunately, the driver is said to have emerged unscathed, and there were no other vehicles involved in the incident.

The incident occurred in the city of Cadiz, situated in Andalucia, Spain. Short videos shared by @supercar.fails on Instagram show a yellow Porsche 911 Cabriolet and a white Ferrari 488 GTB parked on the road near the scene. This suggests that the GT2 RS may have been part of a supercar convoy, enjoying the winding roads of the Mediterranean countryside before the unfortunate crash marred their excursion.

An Instagram user, who appears to be the owner of the Ferrari, shared a different perspective in the comments. He claims that the group was traveling at no more than 100 km/h (62 mph) when the Porsche driver lost control. Blaming the poor condition of the tarmac, the Ferrari owner cites “lots of potholes, bumps, and sand” as factors leading to the loss of traction.

In any case, we hope that the 911 GT3 RS eventually gets back on the road.

Just to refresh your memory, the GT3 RS version of the 992 debuted in 2022, boasting motorsport-derived aero, performance, and chassis enhancements. The oversized aerodynamic components generate a staggering 860 kg (1,895 lbs) of downforce at 285 km/h (177 mph). Under the hood, you’ll find a 4.0-liter flat-six engine churning out 518 hp (386 kW / 525 PS), which is transmitted to the rear axle via a seven-speed PDK automatic transmission.
