Over the past few months, tuners and dedicated wrapping specialists have been busy adding their own flair to Tesla’s Cybertrucks. However, Tesla itself has joined the party, expanding its color options for the electric pickup truck.

While previously limited to Satin Stealth Black and Satin Ceramic White, Tesla now offers three new wrap colors – Satin Slip Grey, Satin Rose Gold, and Satin Abyss Blue. But there’s a catch: these new wraps can only be installed at four select Tesla service centers in California.

Five different options are listed on the Tesla website; Satin Rose Gold ($6,500), Satin Abyss Blue ($6,500), Slip Grey ($6,000), Satin Stealth Black ($6,000), and Satin Ceramic White ($6,000), but a Tesla FAQ also reveals there will be Forest Green and Crimson Red options available, albeit perhaps at a later date.

Tesla says its wraps for the Cybertruck are made from a self-healing, urethane-based film and claims they are “more environmentally friendly than traditional vinyl wraps.” It has not stated if it is sourcing these wraps from another company, like 3M, or if the film has been developed in-house.

The EV maker has been offering wraps in the U.S. for a few months but anyone living outside of California wanting to wrap their Cybertruck, or any other Tesla, will have to look to the aftermarket. That might not be a bad thing, however, as a wrapped Model Y done at one of the firm’s service centers last year had a pretty poor finish and the owner would have probably been better off turning to the aftermarket.

While Tesla is no wrapping specialist, we suspect plenty of Cybertruck owners will get their trucks wrapped by the brand. After all, lots of car buyers opt for ceramic coatings from dealers when purchasing a new car, even though they could save a lot of money and get a better finish by turning to a professional detailer and paint corrector.
