It may only seem like yesterday that the all-electric Mercedes-Benz EQS hit the market but it’s been around for almost three years and the carmaker has started working on a facelifted version. This updated model, captured in these spy shots for the very first time, will look largely similar to the outgoing car but will receive several welcome changes.
While camouflage adorns both the front and rear fascias of this EQS, we can see that the front has been tweaked to include new headlights with LED daytime running lights in a three-pointed star design, just like the Concept CLA. While the camouflage covers much of the headlights, they appear to be largely similar in shape to those of the outgoing model and as such, continue to neatly meet with the shut line of the hood.

It is difficult to determine what other alterations Mercedes has made to the front of the EQS but we suspect the shape of the grille will be changed and perhaps similar to that of the Concept CLA. Other areas of note on this prototype are the cameras mounted to the underside of the wing mirrors and a rear end that we suspect will get a different bumper. Interestingly, the taillights appear identical to the current model but these could be changed for production.
The overall shape of the facelifted EQS will remain the same as the current model. This comes despite the brand recently acknowledging that the design of the EQS hasn’t proven to be particularly appealing among its core buyers and has committed to making its future EVs look a little more like the Concept CLA. In all likelihood, we will have to wait for the second-generation EQS to see a radical redesign that may not be as divisive.
Limited other details about the 2026 EQS are known but it will probably continue to be offered in EQS 350, EQS 450+, EQS 450 4Matic, EQS 500 4Matic, EQS 580 4Matic, and AMG EQS 53 4Matic+ guises depending on the market.
