Subaru published a solitary photo of the upcoming WRX Club Spec special edition that will be available in a limited number of 150 units reserved for Australian buyers. This model mirrors the US-spec WRX TR, but distinguishes itself with a prominent rear wing reminiscent of the STI days.
The official photo all but confirms the previous reports about the special edition, as sourced from leaked documents. The Club Spec rides on a set of 19-inch wheels shod in Bridgestone Potenza S007 tires (245/35 R19) that are identical to the TR, alongside the red brake calipers and the Recaro seats. the Australian version features a fixed rear wing exclusive to the Club Spec model and not available for the rest of the WRX lineup.
As with the North American TR, the Australian Club Spec features Brembo brakes with larger discs measuring 340 mm (13.4 inches) at the front and 326 mm (12.8 inches) at the back. What we don’t know is whether the model will inherit the TR’s chassis upgrades including stiffer springs, new dampers, and a modified steering rack.

The Australian 2024 Subaru WRX Club Spec
Despite the more aggressive stance, the turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder powertrain is carried over from the standard WRX, producing the same 271 hp (202 kW / 275 PS) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque. Power is transmitted to all four wheels exclusively via a six-speed manual gearbox – the CVT Lineatronic option is not available for the Club Spec – with the help of Subaru‘s Symmetrical AWD system.
As reported by our colleagues at Drive.com.au, the limited edition is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the WRX nameplate in Australia. However, Blair Read, managing director of Subaru Australia, said that this is “one of the celebrations”, hinting that we could have more WRX-related news before the end of 2024.
The 2024 Subaru WRX Club Spec will be available Down Under starting this April. Pricing and detailed specifications will be announced closer to its market launch.
