Commercial vehicles are becoming a key player in the automotive landscape, with the segment rapidly evolving thanks to the implementation of new technologies. To catch up with the times, Stellantis announced the new Ram Professional division – a separate business unit for North America offering a range of commercial vehicles and connected services.
The existing lineup includes the Ram ProMaster EV, 1500 REV, 1500 Ramcharger, Heavy Duty, and Chassis Cab lines, with more offerings set to be available throughout the year. Ram says that its target audience is small businesses, work truck fleets, and demanding buyers of commercial vehicles. These have access to financing options and a dedicated BusinessLink dealer network offering maintenance packages and fleet contracts. All vehicles from Ram Professional also benefit from mechanical coverage and 24-hour roadside assistance.

Besides offering a wide range of products, Ram will implement new services set to roll out in phases. These are centered around the Ram Connect system which runs on the Mobilisights data platform. Owners will be able to control their vehicles or fleets, with access to real-time data and connected services.
Specifically for the Ram ProMaster EV, owners can use the Stellantis Free2Move platform for charging and energy management. Finally, the company offers mobility solutions in the form of vehicle sharing, rental, subscription, and mobile parking schemes as part of the Free2move global mobility provider. Further details about each of the new services will be announced soon.
The Ram Professional will make its official debut at the 2024 National Truck and Equipment (NTEA) Work Truck Week show, set to take place in Indianapolis on March 6. Stellantis hopes that the new division will help towards achieving the goals of its “Dare Forward 2030” global plan, including reducing the carbon footprint and improving customer satisfaction.
