Skoda released a brief video teaser of an upcoming EV, set to be unveiled during the automaker’s Annual Press Conference event on March 15. While the model’s name is yet to be revealed, speculation suggests it could be the Skoda Elroq compact SUV, anticipated to make its production debut later in 2024.
The VW Group automaker has pledged to provide an “exclusive sneak peek of its design concept for a future battery electric vehicle,” which is expected to be nearing production status. The teaser zeroes in on the front end of the EV, revealing a silhouette suggestive of an SUV body style.
Notable features include the distinctive LED lighting signature and the illuminated Skoda emblem adorning the sculpted hood. This design element is anticipated to become a common styling feature among all future EVs from the Czech brand, establishing a cohesive family appearance.

Based on official information shared last year regarding Skoda’s upcoming electric range, the Elroq is slated to debut in 2024 as the electric counterpart to the ICE-powered Karoq. Described by Skoda as an “ideal family car,” it boasts a spacious interior prioritizing practicality, with an exterior measuring around 4.5 meters (177.1 inches) long.
Set to compete with models such as the Peugeot E-3008, the Elroq will also challenge upcoming fully electric successors of the Citroen C5 Aircross and Opel Grandland, both anticipated to launch this year.
Skoda is also developing an entry-level electric SUV that will share its platform with the forthcoming VW ID.2. However, this model is set to debut in 2025 alongside the facelifted Enyaq and Enyaq Coupe. Additionally, Skoda has plans for other EV premieres, including a spacious wagon and a seven-seater SUV similar in size to the Kodiaq, both expected to launch in 2026.
Skoda’s Annual Press Conference for 2024 will be live-streamed on Friday, March 15. You can follow the presentation in the video below. Besides the design preview, Skoda will present the key financial indicators of 2023 and provide “an outlook on its current developments and strategic plans.”
