- This 1992 Acura NSX was provided to the owner after a mechanic reportedly crashed his first NSX during a joyride.
- Seeing that values were rising, the owner opted to park the NSX in a heated garage.
- The Japanese sports car will soon get a thorough deep cleaning, and the owner plans to sell it, likely in the six-figure range.
A dealer joyride that ended in a wreck, a 30-year stint in a heated garage, and an upcoming deep clean that will doubtless be enormously satisfying to watch: this story has everything. And, if you’re an enthusiast with deep pockets, the low-mile 1992 Acura NSX at the center of it could soon be yours.
The story starts in Pennsylvania where, in 1991, an Acura lover decided to buy himself an NSX. However, during a routine service, a mechanic allegedly took the car for a joyride and crashed it, leading to significant damage.

Such was the impact to the car, that the dealership decided to simply replace it with a 1992 Acura NSX model painted white, reports Road & Track. That’s the car you see in these photos, and when all the dust had finally settled and the owner called his insurer to cover the car, he was told that since it was becoming a rare model, prices would soon start to increase.
He eventually decided to cancel the policy, park the NSX in his garage, and cover it up after having driven just 2,002 miles (3,222 km). There, it lay almost forgotten until the owner’s friend, Joe Feller, noticed it, and asked about it.
Now, after Feller mentioned how much NSXs are worth these days, the owner has finally decided to sell the car. Although it’s covered in decades of dust, and there are signs of mold inside, the car has been kept in a heated garage its whole life, so it is still in good condition.
The owner is reportedly handing the car over to AMMO NYC for a deep clean in the near future, so keep an eye out for a possible video of this car receiving the bath it richly deserves. Although it’s not clear how much work the NSX will ultimately need under the hood, its originality is something to behold.
For instance, the car still sports the original Yokohama tires that it was delivered with. The rubber is so old that it’s unclear which is a bigger reason not to drive on them: their age, or the recall that was ordered on them.

Better yet, the entire dealer package — stuff like the paperwork for the car and its brochures — hasn’t been opened. Since this was the owner’s second NSX, he had already had a chance to see everything that was inside the package.
That should help increase the value of the car, which the owner and Feller, who is acting as his broker, expect to land in six-figure territory. If you want this NSX, you’ll have to wait until the pair decide on a sales platform for it, or you’ll have to be exceedingly persuasive over on Facebook, where Feller first revealed the car to the world.
