- Buick has unveiled the facelifted Envision, which adopts the company’s latest design language.
- The model features a significantly improved cabin with an all-new 30-inch display.
- The 2024 Buick Envision will go on sale this summer with pricing starting at $37,295.
Buick’s transformation continues as the brand has introduced the 2024 Envision. Originally previewed last summer, the facelifted crossover embraces a new design philosophy while also putting a greater emphasis on technology.
The changes are immediately apparent as the model has been equipped with split lighting units and a revised grille that is now lower and wider. They’re joined by a new bumper, a restyled hood, and Buick’s modernized tri-shield logo.
The rear end is far more evolutionary as it wears new taillights and a lightly revised bumper. Customers will also find an updated color palette that includes Calypso Blue Metallic as well as Smokey Amethyst Metallic.
Changes are more than skin deep as the 2024 Envision embraces a streamlined lineup that now consists of Preferred, ST, and Avenir trims. This is a slight departure from last year’s model where the mid-level trim was called the Essence and the ST package was an option.
Speaking of the ST trim, it sports a unique grille, black accents, and 20-inch wheels with a Carbon Flash Metallic finish. Buyers will also find a unique flat-bottom steering wheel.
A Modern, More Upscale Interior
Some of the biggest changes occur in the cabin, which has been completely reimagined and now appears worthy of Buick’s premium positioning. The old analog gauges and infotainment system have been relegated to the history books as there’s a new, class-leading 30-inch widescreen display.
Buick says it’s customizable and owners will be able to “prioritize their preferred views, switching between multiple widgets such as navigation, vehicle information, audio entertainment and more.” The display also has Google built-in, meaning access to Google Assistant, Google Maps, and the Google Play store.
Besides the expansive display, the Envision has higher-quality switchgear, a revised dashboard, and a revamped center console with a new rotary controller. The shifter has also been moved from the console to the steering column.
Elsewhere, the model has been equipped with a new leather-wrapped steering wheel, additional metallic accents, and updated upholstery which is available in a variety of bold colors. In particular, customers will be able to order a Garnet interior with Ebony accents or a Cool Gray interior with Slate Blue elements.
Rounding out the highlights are improved front and rear seats designed to provide a “stylized yet comfortable experience.” The crossover also comes better equipped as buyers will find a standard head-up display, multicolor ambient lighting, and a nine-speaker Bose audio system.
The Envision now comes standard with adaptive cruise control. Drivers will also find Blind Zone Steering Assist, Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking, and Front Pedestrian and Bicyclist Braking. They’re joined by IntelliBeam headlights, Rear Cross Traffic Braking, and an HD Surround Vision system.
When Buick originally announced the 2024 Envision, they made a big fuss about Super Cruise availability. However, the semi-autonomous driving system won’t be offered after all and that’s a disappointing development.
Standard All-Wheel Drive And A Higher Starting Price Of $37,295
A familiar turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine resides under the hood, where it produces 228 hp (170 kW / 231 PS) and 258 lb-ft (349 Nm) of torque. It’s connected to a nine-speed automatic transmission and a newly standard all-wheel-drive system.
The 2024 Buick Envision is slated to arrive at U.S. dealerships this summer and pricing will start at $37,295 including destination. That’s a sizeable jump from $34,745 but it’s important to note the old all-wheel drive variant was actually more expensive at $38,345.
Aside from the entry-level model, the Envision ST will start at $39,795. The range-topping Avenir is significantly more expensive as it carries a base price of $48,395.
