- Certain 2024 Corvette Z06s may have been incorrectly equipped with a painted carbon fiber splitter.
- As a result, the splitter may not match other parts on the vehicle, the weave of whose carbon fiber is visible.
- Chevrolet will replace the part free of charge, but it may take some time before the correct splitter is ready.
Gearheads are some of the most detail-oriented people on the earth. Just ask an automotive enthusiast about the difference between a 1958 Corvette and a 1959 model – you’ll get a laundry list of minutiae and details. So, buyers who spend six figures on the latest version of Chevy’s high-performance sports car are certain to notice if their splitters don’t match their dive planes.
Indeed, some owners of the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 have noticed that their forward-most aero elements feature the wrong finish, prompting General Motors to publish a technical service bulletin (TSB). Fortunately, the defect appears to be entirely aesthetic, but it remains a frustrating inconvenience for people who spent a lot of money on their new performance car.

“Some vehicles with RPO CFV were incorrectly kitted at the factory and received the three-piece front splitter with painted carbon fiber instead of the intended exposed weave carbon fiber,” Chevrolet writes in a TSB first found by Corvetteblogger. “The front dive planes are typically correct.”
One such vehicle was featured in a recent video by the HorsePower Obsessed YouTube channel, which reports that the Corvette Z06 affected by this issue cost nearly $200,000 once all the options had been selected.

Luckily, the remedy for this error is relatively simple, but it may take a while to implement. In the TSB, Chevrolet writes that dealers should reach out to buyers awaiting delivery to ask if they want to receive their Corvette with the mismatched front aero elements and have their splitters corrected at a later date, or if they want to wait until the correct parts can be equipped pre-delivery.
However, Chevrolet warns that it could take a couple of weeks for the right parts to arrive. In the TSB, Chevy reports that the cause of this mix up is still under investigation, but we have reached out to the automaker for more information, and will update you when we hear back.
