- The ADX will be the smallest crossover in Acura’s lineup, placed below the RDX.
- It will arrive in early 2025, with a turbocharged gasoline powertrain.
- Acura is also working on an electric version of the three-row MDX.
Acura has officially confirmed the name of its upcoming baby crossover, set to debut in early 2025. The new Acura ADX will be equipped with a turbocharged gasoline engine, expanding the automaker’s crossover lineup to include a model positioned below the compact RDX, the mid-size MDX, and the fully electric ZDX.
The new crossover was initially announced in January 2024, though Acura didn’t reveal its name at that time. The company states that the ADX will serve as ‘another gateway to the Acura brand for young premium buyers,’ alongside the Integra. While no other details were offered, the crossover will likely share its underpinnings with other compact models from the Honda group, like the mechanically-related Honda Civic and HR-V models.

“The 2025 Acura ADX will introduce a fourth SUV to our lineup, serving as a new entry point to build upon the remarkable success of the Integra, positioning Acura as a destination brand for a new generation of buyers,” said Emile Korkor, Assistant Vice President of Acura National Sales. “With the debut of the first-ever ADX and the all-electric ZDX, the Acura lineup will provide SUV options from A to Z.”
The confirmation comes on the heels of reports from a dealer meeting last week, during which Acura informed dealers about the upcoming model. Brian Benstock, General Manager of Paragon Honda/Acura in New York City and Chairman of the Acura National Dealer Advisory Board, expressed his enthusiasm to Auto News, stating, “It’s about time. It’s a great segment, and we think it’s a growing segment. It’ll really enhance our ability to generate significant volume for the brand.”
While the company confirmed the name and market positioning of the ADX, they remained silent on the possibility of an electric powertrain option. However, Benstock believes that a zero-emission derivative is possible in the future, stating, “They are keeping their cards close to their chest when it comes to that, but everything’s going to turn into an EV eventually. And we’re looking forward to that.”
A Fully Electric Acura MDX Is Coming Too
During the dealer meeting, Acura also announced it’s working on a fully electric version of the three-row MDX crossover. Speaking about the upcoming model, Benstock said: “They don’t want to hurt the sales of the current vehicle. But in the future we will see a battery-electric MDX”.
The current, fourth generation of the V6-powered MDX just received a mid-lifecycle update for the 2025 model year. The mid-size luxury crossover features mild exterior tweaks, alongside the introduction of a new 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system featuring Google built-in. Additionally, it now boasts a 19-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system and enhanced ADAS capabilities.
Acura is set to play an important role in achieving Honda’s target of selling 800,000 electric vehicles in North America by 2030, described as “the tip of the spear”. Its first EV – the Acura ZDX – arrives in US dealerships this spring, with a starting price of $64,500.
