- The $7,500 EV tax credit helps several Equinox EV models undercut the ICE version.
- Prices for the entry-level Equinox FT FWD start at $29,995.
- The combustion-powered Equinox uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder with 175 hp and 203 lb-ft (275 Nm).
Chevrolet has announced the pricing details for the ICE versions of the 2025 Equinox and in news that will surprise many, it is possible to buy an Equinox EV for less than the gas-powered model.
Prices for the standard 2025 Equinox LT FWD start at $29,995, and $31,995 when fitted with all-wheel drive. Power comes courtesy of a 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder with 175 hp and 203 lb-ft (275 Nm) of torque. The FWD model’s starting price allows it to undercut the $30,025 Toyota RAV4 LE, the $30,850 Honda CR-V LX, and the $30,990 Ford Escape Active but does make it slightly pricier than the 2024 Tucson SE which starts at $28,875.

Interestingly, the entry-level 2025 Equinox EV can be more affordable. It starts at $34,995 excluding destination in base 1LT FWD guise but is eligible for the full $7,500 federal EV tax credit. This reduces its price to $27,495 or $28,890 including destination, undercutting the ICE Equinox LT FWD by $1,105. The EV is also more powerful with 210 hp and 242 lb-ft (327 Nm).
Shoppers committed to internal combustion engines also have other 2025 Equinox models to choose from. For example, the RS FWD starts at $34,395, and adding AWD brings its price up to $36,395. New for 2025 is the Equinox Activ, which adopts an off-road aesthetic and is priced from $34,395, or $36,395 if you pick all-wheel drive.
These models undercut some versions of the Equinox EV but not all once you factor in the tax credit. For example, the EV 2LT starts at $43,295 or $35,795 with the tax credit, whereas the 2RS starts at $44,795 or $37,295 with the credit. Pricier versions of the EV start at $45,295 for the 3LT and $46,795 for the 3RS, figures that are reduced to $37,795 and $39,295 with the credit.
