Citroen is ready to unveil the all-new C3 Aircross, which has grown compared to its predecessor, offering a seven-seater layout. The longer and high-riding brother of the Citroen eC3/C3 was previewed in a new teaser ahead of its debut on April 18. The Citroen C3 Aircross is expected to be available with fully electric and mild hybrid powertrains, sharing its underpinnings with the Opel Frontera.
Europe’s Citroen C3 Aircross will be a redesigned version of the New C3 Aircross that was first unveiled in May 2023 for regions like India, South East Asia, and South America. While the two models are expected to share a few body panels, the European version adopts more modern styling features. It is also expected to offer higher levels of comfort, tech, and safety together with a region-specific chassis setup.

The official teasers show a pair of boxy headlights that look very similar to the C3, which was inspired by the Citroen Oli concept. As expected, the French B-SUV adopts a taller and boxier stance with a noticeably longer body compared to its predecessor. The profile is largely shared with the Opel Frontera, but the rear end is specific to the Citroen with different LEDs and a sculpted tailgate.
The highlight of the new generation is its ability to carry seven passengers in a traditional 2+3+2 layout. This will make the Citroen C3 Aircross the only seven-seater in the segment, offering a chunkier alternative to the Dacia Jogger. The dashboard is also expected to mirror the Opel twin, with a dual-screen layout and a few storage compartments.
Citroen originally announced the upcoming SUV during the presentation of the e-C3 on October 2023 with a dark teaser. Since then, Stellantis detailed the ICE-powered version of the Citroen C3 supermini and previewed the design of the Opel Frontera SUV twin, giving us most pieces of the puzzle concerning the upcoming Citroen C3 Aircross.
The EU-market C3 Aircross will likely measure close to 4.32 m (170.1 inches) long, 170 mm (6.7 inches) longer than its predecessor. It will ride on the new “Smart Car” architecture introduced by the C3/e-C3 as an evolved derivative of the eCMP/CMP platform.
The underpinnings are compatible with fully electric, gasoline, and mild-hybrid powertrains. The EV has been officially confirmed by the “e-C3” badge on the teaser, most likely featuring a single front-mounted electric motor. As for the ICE alternative, we don’t know if Citroen will roll out a non-electrified version of the C3 Aircross or if they’ll stick to the more efficient turbo 1.2-liter engine working together with a 48V mild-hybrid system.
