• Sporty crossover gains a suspension lift and a new set of 18-inch wheels with grippy tires.
  • Visual modifications include bolt-on wide fender extensions, a removable diffuser, extra LEDs, and a roof rack.
  • It’s born as a one-off project by JE Design, but a similar kit could end up in the market if there’s enough demand.

The Cupra Formentor is known for being one of the sportiest-looking and road-focused SUVs in its segment. Still, German tuner JE Design decided to explore its adventurous side, with a one-off All-Terrain conversion.

The Cupra Formentor All Terrain borrows elements from JE Design‘s sporty bodykit that is already available with a few changes. The wide fender extensions are painted in a rugged textured finish, matching the side skirts, the rear spoiler lip, and the lower portion of the bumpers. Furthermore, the fenders are mounted on the bodywork with visible bolts, enhancing the rugged appearance.

The Cupra Formentor All Terrain rides on 18-inch beadlock-style wheels shod in grippy Yokohama tires. To match the wider fenders, JE Design fitted the Formentor with spacers. More importantly, the ground clearance has been increased by 3 cm (1.2 inches) courtesy of a lift kit, making it much more usable when the tarmac stops.

Another highlight is a practical roof rack that can carry most gear, joined by two LED bars for improved lighting when off-roading. The diffuser might be more decorative than functional but according to the tuner, it can be easily dismantled allowing the operation of a fold-out tow hitch. Finally, the matte purple accents around the bodywork add a bit of color to the mix.

Cupra Formentor Gains Its First All Terrain Conversion By JE Design

JE Design didn’t mention any powertrain upgrades. However, they did add a new exhaust system with silver-coated quad pipes and flaps so that the special Formentor delivers a beefier sound.

The Cupra Formentor All-Terrain was presented as a one-off project car. However, if there is enough customer interest, JE Design could consider putting it into production. After all, the tuner already offers a similar conversion kit for the Seat Ateca.
