Chris Cutler was renowned as an avid NSX enthusiast, a skilled DIYer, and a devoted dog lover. Years ago, his custom-crafted NSX trailer and roof tent set the internet ablaze. Tragically, he passed away in the early hours of Monday morning on April 1, following a crash involving a Honda S2000.
Police responded to the scene around 1:20 am on I-91 South, just north of exit 13, where they discovered the car had collided with a guardrail before veering down an embankment, as reported by WTNH. Emergency responders swiftly transported Cutler to the hospital, but sadly, he did not survive. The cause of the crash remains unclear, and as of this writing, police have not disclosed further details.

To put it simply, the NSX community is in deep mourning following Cutler’s accident. He was well known not just for his wild NSX-themed DIY projects but for his kindness and engagement in the community.
Famed automotive photographer Larry Chen called Cutler an “incredible human” and said the situation was “an absolute tragedy.” Another commenter added, “The whole automotive community mourn your loss. Thank you for being a driving force and an absolute legend.” Becca Nicole Johnson, another NSX enthusiast, echoed the sentiments of so many others in a post.
“To say Chris was loved is an understatement. He was cherished deeply, not only for his talents but for his ability to inspire others to pursue their passions with the same fervor he had. His legacy will live on in every project we undertake, in every adventure we embark on, and in every story we share about the remarkable life he led,” she said. According to a family friend, his relatives were understandably unprepared for the costs associated with his death and have set up a gofundme to help.
Cutler was also a dog lover. His late pup Cassius featured in many of his posts and according to The Drive, it was Cutler’s mission to visit the 48 states with Cassius in tow. His last post on Facebook surrounded a Pin giveaway to benefit the ASPCA. Even the pin itself had a small ode to Cassius on it.
While they’re both gone now, let this be a reminder to all of us to appreciate the loved ones around us, to make the world around us as good as we can, and to make the most of the time we have.
