• The Genesis X Speedium Coupe Giro features a unique bike rack, new wheels, and a crisp white paint job.
  • The latest iteration of the X Speedium Coupe, the sleek concept was first unveiled in 2022.
  • This time, the car is being displayed at the Car // Design Event 2024.

It feels like there’s a lot of overlap in the Venn diagram of automotive and cycling enthusiasts. Maybe that’s why Genesis’ latest iteration of the X Speedium Coupe concept has been designed specifically to carry bicycles.

Shown off at the Car // Design Event 2024 in Germany, the concept car is clearly building off the winter version of the X Speedium Coupe that was unveiled around Christmastime. Still painted the same crisp shade of white, it now also sports white wheels with Turbofan-like guards at the front.

On top, it sports a Pinarello bicycle that is set particularly far back on the roof. In fact, the aft section of the mount is connected to the rear spoiler, and the bike’s back wheel extends beyond the trunk.

The bike is so low that the front wheel has to be removed and laid flat on the central part of the roof rack. The forks are held in place by a shark-fin-like anchoring point that makes the whole bike look a bit like the type of airfoil you might find on a Le Mans racecar.

The set-up helps maintain the X Speedium Coupe’s long, low, and, most important, sporty design lines. As with the earlier version of the concept, there’s a light bar integrated into the front of the roof rack.

First revealed in 2022, the X Speedium Coupe is billed as a look ahead at the future of Genesis design. At that time, the company’s chief creative officer, Luc Donckerwolke, described the concept car as a “look into our design processes as we explore ideas for the next wave of EVs.

Since then, Genesis has said that response to the X Speedium Coupe has been so strong that it is evaluating the possibility of putting it into production.
