- 2025 GMC Yukon to get updated front fascia, with new headlights and a reworked grille.
- Closely related to the 2025 Suburban, it will get bigger screens, a more powerful diesel engine, and refined suspension.
- The refreshed SUV will spearhead GMC’s expansion into Australia, New Zealand, and China.
Hold onto your cowboy hats, GMC fans, because there’s a facelift coming for the Yukon. After Chevrolet unveiled the 2025 Tahoe and Suburban refresh late last year, their beefier siblings, the GMC Yukon and Yukon XL, are gearing up for their own makeover. And GMC has just dropped the first teaser of what’s to come.
Although the first photo of the upcoming GMC Yukon is cropped pretty tight, it gives us a glimpse of its redesigned headlights. The revised units will feature a characteristic C-shaped DRL, with the projectors now nested lower in the “C”. They will be accompanied by a redesigned grille. Based on what we see, it appears to adopt a new hexagonal shape for the surround trim, which in the teaser is finished in black.

If the refreshed Tahoe and Suburban are any indication, then expect to see the updated Yukon featuring GM’s latest infotainment system with a massive touchscreen display. The Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban are getting a 17.7-inch touchscreen display, along with an 11-inch digital instrument cluster which means the Yukon is probably getting the same kind of upgrades inside.
2023 GMC Yukon AT4 compared to the 2025 Yukon AT4 teaser
Under the hood, the Chevy SUVs get a second-generation 3.0-liter Duramax diesel engine, which makes 305 hp (227 kW / 309 PS) and 495 lb-ft (670 Nm) of torque. That’s a significant improvement over the first-gen diesel, which makes just 277 hp (207 kW / 281 PS) and 460 lb-ft (623 Nm). Again, we expect the new engine to be offered on the 2025 Yukons.
If diesel is not your thing, you’ll be glad to hear that both the 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter gas V8s will likely carry over from the current model, with outputs of 355 hp (265 kW / 360 PS) and 420 hp (313 kW / 426 PS) respectively.
The Beginning Of A Global Career
It’s crucial for GMC to get the Yukon’s 2025 update right, as the brand is poised to expand into new markets. The 2025 Yukon will spearhead GMC’s entry into the Chinese, New Zealand, and Australian markets. GMC plans to unveil the 2025 Yukon later this year.
