The Kia K9 – previously known as the K900 – remains the largest and most luxurious sedan from the Korean automaker. For 2024, the model has been updated in its home market receiving mild visual tweaks and a more generous equipment package as standard.
The Kia K900 was originally introduced in 2018, followed by a comprehensive mid-lifecycle update in 2021 which didn’t make it to the US market. The second facelift is a lot more discreet, with the visual updates being difficult to spot without a direct comparison.
Kia designers tweaked the large grille with a new, thinner chrome bezel and a horizontal pattern instead of the old arrow-shaped features. The rest of the bodywork remains virtually unchanged, except for new dark-finished 19-inch alloy wheels and a new “Pebble Gray” color option.

Inside, Kia’s color and trim department introduces the new Martian Brown and Misty Gray configurations. All K9 models now come with USB-C ports, a new fire extinguisher, and an after-blow function for the air conditioning. Furthermore, high-end trims benefit from new Ergo motion seats which are a first for Kia.

The Kia K9 is still available with the same six-cylinder powertrains. The naturally aspirated 3.8-liter GDi engine produces 311 hp (232 kW / 315 PS) and 397 Nm (293 lb-ft) of torque. There is also the turbocharged 3.3-liter T-GDi unit which is good for 365 hp (272 kW / 370 PS) and 510 Nm (376 lb-ft) of torque. Both are exclusively mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox sending power to either the rear or all four wheels. Note that the more potent 5.0-liter V8 has been discontinued since 2021.
The 2024 Kia K9 is available to order in South Korea. Pricing starts from 59.33 million won for the base-spec Platinum trim with RWD and the 3.8-liter engine, and climbs to 86.85 million won for the flagship Best Selection II trim with AWD and the turbocharged 3.3-liter engine.
