• Automobili Pininfarina created a one-off commission of the Battista electric hypercar for a special customer who already owned the Anniversario.
  • Nicknamed the Reversario, it has the exact opposite specification compared to their Anniversario.
  • The lucky owner of the Anniversario and Reversario duo suggests that the twin models “can never be separated because they are truly unified in design”.

If you’re into the market for exclusive hypercars like the Pininfarina Battista, you may have the privilege of getting deeply involved in the development process, something that can spark interesting ideas. This is what happened with the owner of the fifth of five Anniversario special editions who commissioned another example of the electric hypercar, asking Automobili Pininfarina designers to create the exact opposite – the Reversario.

The Pininfarina Battista Anniversario debuted in 2020 celebrating the 90th anniversary of the company, with a special livery and a limited production of five units. As suggested by its name, the Battista Reversario reverses the colors of the original, creating the perfect twin.

The main bodywork and the five-spoke wheels are painted in Bianco Sestiere gloss, with the upper part in Grigio Antonelliano gloss. As with the original, an Iconica Blu stripe highlights the duo-tone finish, with matching accents around the bodywork. Furthermore, a unique badge has been added on the underside of the active rear spoiler, alongside Reversario lettering on the carbon side wings.

Opposite Interior Colors

The interior of the Reversario is also the opposite of the black-themed Anniversario, featuring white Alcantara and leather upholstery upholstery. Iconica Blu has been used for the perforation, seatbelts, and various inserts, with the Reversario badge making another appearance between the seats.

Pininfarina also created a three-piece luggage set (briefcase, weekend holdall, and suit bag) finished in Black leather with Iconica Blu edging and white Alcantara quilt.

There are no changes to the hardware of the electric hypercar that are sourced from the Rimac Nevera. The quad electric motors produce a combined 1,877 hp ( 1,400 kW / 1,903 PS) and 2,340 Nm (1,726 lb-ft) of torque, and are powered by an 120 kWh battery pack.

As with the regular Battista, the 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint is completed in 1.86 seconds, the 0-200 km/h (0-124 mph) requires 4.75 seconds, while the top speed is electronically limited to 350 km/h (217 mph).

The lucky owner of the Anniversario / Reversario duo stated: “The twins are complete and total perfection that has never been achieved by the automotive world. Not only do they have legacy and pedigree, where they bear the name and indelible mark of the world’s greatest car designer, they also complement each other as mirror images. The twins are and forever will be associated with love perfected. The twins can never be separated because they are truly unified in design.”

The pricing of the Reversario has not been disclosed, but it’s unlikely that the owner received a discount for acquiring their second Battista. Based on the €2.6 million ($2.8 million) starting price of the Anniversario, the pictured two-car garage should be valued at over €5.2 million ($5.6 million).

Automobili Pininfarina describes the Reversario as a “bespoke vehicle that will never be repeated”, which means that the other four owners of the Anniversario can’t have their own ying-yang moment. Still, the design team is more than willing to work with future clients for similarly unique builds based on the remaining Pininfarina Battista units and the even more exclusive €4.4 million ($4.8 million) B95 Barchetta.
