- This Corvette E-Ray also features new pistons and delivers approximately 1,000 hp.
- The car can comfortably sprint down the quarter-mile in 9.7 seconds.
- Chevy’s upcoming C8 Corvette Zora is tipped to use a twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8.
Chevrolet is believed to be developing a flagship C8 with a twin-turbocharged V8 and a hybrid-electric drivetrain with upwards of 1,000 hp. While this new model is bound to be impressive, a U.S. tuner has decided to make its own electrified Corvette with forced induction. This is it.
The Corvette featured has been built by Boost District and is a new E-Ray model. As standard, this car rocks a 6.2-liter naturally-aspirated V8 supplemented by an electric motor, producing a combined 655 hp. Not satisfied with the performance on offer, Boost Direct has bolted on a pair of turbochargers from ETS.

This potent E-Ray is also rocking pistons from Lingenfelter and has an upgraded fuel injection system. It pumps out approximately 1,000 hp and helping to keep all that power under control is a new heavy-duty clutch.
Soon after wrapping up the build of the car, the tuner headed to the drag strip to put its latest creation through its paces. Not only does it lift its front wheels off the pavement under heavy acceleration but the twin-turbo’d Corvette E-Ray can rocket down the quarter-mile in a consistent 9.7 seconds.
How does this compare to a standard E-Ray? Chevrolet says the car can run the quarter-mile in 10.6 seconds, meaning Boost District has managed to shave almost a full second from that time. Given that the development of this car is only in its early stages, there’s a good chance it will be able to bring that time down even further into the mid-9-second range.
Chevy’s forthcoming Corvette flagship, which could be dubbed Zora, is expected to arrive in the next couple of years. Unlike this E-Ray, it is expected to use a twin-turbocharged version of the Z06’s 5.5-liter V8 and will serve as a direct competitor to the Ferrari SF90 Stradale and Lamborghini Revuelto.
