British firm TWR (Tom Walkinshaw Racing) revealed the first model of its new era, dubbed the “Supercat”. The V12-powered restomod is based on the classic Jaguar XJS but features significant mechanical and visual upgrades, enhancing its performance on the road and the track.
The carbon fiber exterior was penned by digital artist Khyzyl Saleem in collaboration with renowned designer and collector Magnus Walker who joined TWR’s development team. The new dress makes the XJS look like a racecar, thanks to the pronounced aero components and the disc wheels.

The boxy wide fenders are nicely integrated with the rest of the bodywork, leading to a large ducktail spoiler at the back. The iconic flying buttresses of the XJS have been retained, staying true to the original recipe of Malcolm Sayer. New features include the modern LED graphics, the oversized splitter, the equally large diffuser, and the side-mounted exhaust pipes.
The “fundamentally re-imagined interior” of the Supercat remains under wraps but will be unveiled at the dynamic debut of the model this summer. Judging from the exterior, we expect heavily bolstered seats and lightweight materials.

TWR didn’t get into details about the technical specifications but gave us a good idea of what is hiding under the long vented hood. A supercharged V12 engine will produce more than 600 hp (447 kW / 608 PS), making it significantly more powerful than any roadgoing example of the Jaguar XJS donor car which remained in production between 1975 and 1996. The engine will be mated to a manual transmission, likely sending power to the rear axle.
It is safe to assume that the restomod will feature a thoroughly revised chassis setup, honouring the racing pedigree of TWR. The company said that the project has been under development for nearly three years, and went through an “exhaustive testing, development and tuning programme” focused on offering a “truly connected and analogue driving experience”.
The first customer deliveries of the TWR Supercat are scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2024. Production will be limited to 88 units, as a nod to the 1988 Le Mans win of the TWR Jaguar XJR-9. The order books are now open, and pricing starts from £225,000 ($282,200) before taxes. Besides the UK, the restomod will also be available in all major international markets, including the US.
