  • Distinctive features include black Quadrifoglio badges and red 3D carbon fiber interior inserts
  • The models are a tribute to the Alfa Romeo 6C 1500 Super Sport that won the 1928 Mille Miglia race

Alfa Romeo news might be dominated by the Junior small SUV these days, but the Giulia and Stelvio are still holding their ground. In a bid to pique buyers’ interest in the Quadrifoglio models, Alfa Romeo has unveiled the new “Super Sport” special editions, available globally in limited numbers.

These special edition models sport black Quadrifoglio emblems and boast 3D carbon fiber interior inserts finished in red.

While both performance models will continue to be available in Europe and other global markets, this duo of special editions will signal the final chapter for the twin-turbo V6 Quadrifoglio models in the United States.

The Quadrifoglio Super Sport versions of the Giulia and Stelvio were created to celebrate Alfa Romeo’s victory at the 1928 Mille Miglia with the 6C 1500 Super Sport. This would be the first in a record string of 11 victories for the Italian brand in the illustrious race.

The exterior highlight of the Super Sport models is the new Quadrifoglio logo featuring a black background, combined with carbon fiber accents, and black brake calipers behind the five-hole alloy wheels measuring 19 inches in the Giulia and 21 inches in the Stelvio.

Besides the pictured Nero Vulcano (black) shade, buyers can order them in Rosso Etna (red), while the Giulia is also available in the classy Bianco Alfa (white). The models also feature the adaptive full-LED matrix headlights with Tonale-inspired graphics which were introduced with the latest facelift.

Alfa Romeo chose a new 3D carbon fiber material with a red finish for the dashboard, center console, and door panels. We can also find red Super Sport logos and special numbered embroidery on the front headrests. Equipment includes the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and the 8.8-inch infotainment display.

In Europe, these special editions are equipped with the more powerful version of the twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 engine, matching the 513 hp (383 kW / 520 PS) of the sold-out Quadrifoglio 100° Anniversario. Power is transmitted to the rear (Giulia) or all four wheels (Stelvio) via an eight-speed automatic, aided by a GTA-sourced mechanical limited-slip differential. The two models also benefit from an Akrapovic exhaust.

In the States, we receive the slightly less powerful version of the twin-turbo V6, rated at 505 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque. This translates to a 0-60 mph (96 km/h) sprint in 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 191 mph (307 km/h) for the RWD sedan, while the AWD SUV achieves a 0-60 in 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 176 mph (283 km/h).

Pricing and availability

Alfa Romeo has announced a limited worldwide production of 275 units for the Giulia and 175 units for the Stelvio, with 72 units of the sedan and 52 of the SUV earmarked for the US market.

Pricing in the States starts at $86,770 for the 2024 Giulia Quadrifoglio Super Sport and $94,370 for the 2024 Stelvio Quadrifoglio Super Sport (all MSRPs exclude $1,595 destination charge).
