- The 1.9-liter four-cylinder in this track-modified Peugeot 309 GTi rocks a Rotrex supercharger
- Other modifications include a custom inlet manifold and an Xtrac limited-slip differential
- A former Prodrive engineer modified the car
The ultimate Peugeot 309 GTi will be auctioned off later this week, and if you want your French GTi to be unlike anything else on the road, this could be the perfect example.
This 309 GTi started life like any other and was owned by a former engineer from Prodrive. With plenty of motorsport experience, the owner decided to spare no expense in modifying the car. Over three years, the Peugeot has been transformed and is now ready for a new home. It is road registered but could also serve as an excellent track car or hill climber.

Extensive work has been done on the 1.9-liter four-cylinder engine under the hood. It rocks a forged bottom end, aluminum adjustable pulleys, a custom inlet manifold, and more importantly, a Rotrex supercharger. It also features an aluminum radiator and intercooler and churns out an impressive 370 hp on race fuel.
The upgrades don’t stop there. For example, it features AP brakes with large six-piston calipers at the front, an Xtrac limited-slip differential, shortened drive shafts, and a custom short-shifter. A custom exhaust has also been built for the car.
The seller clearly wanted to make this a hardcore driver’s car and has also fitted a roll cage, a pair of Sparco racing seats, and an OMP steering wheel, after stripping the interior from everything unnecessary. Iconic Auctioneers notes the vehicle also includes six-point racing harnesses, an Alcantara steering wheel, a complete intercom system, and an electric handbrake.
The auction house says the seller has spent more than £100,000 (~$125,000) on the car but has only driven it 70 miles (113 km) since the upgrades.
