Genesis joins the world of pet-friendly accessories with a new concept module for the Electrified GV70 SUV. The Genesis X Dog is a removable module that transforms the boot of the GV70 into a pet sanctuary, featuring a heated dog bed, a built-in shower, a bespoke hairdryer, an audio system, plenty of storage compartments, and configurable ambient lighting.

The cool module was presented in concept form but the possibility of hitting the market depends on the reaction from Genesis customers. The dog enters the space via a lightweight pull-out ramp made of aluminum and carbon fiber that can be easily stored in the boot.

The module is designed to match the premium ambiance of the Genesis Electrified GV70 interior, with quilted vegan leather upholstery on the sidewalls, 100-color configurable ambient lighting, non-slip surfaces, and a safety locking mechanism to keep your animal safe while on the go.

Amenities include a Genesis-branded dog cushion with a heating function, and a wireless Bluetooth audio system allowing your pet to enjoy their favorite beats. There is also a built-in shower with a 6-lt pressurized water tank and a bespoke hairdryer so you can wash your four-legged friend before entering the vehicle. Finally, there are a couple of 230V plug sockets, a USB charging port, and numerous storage compartments to keep everything clean and organized.

Studies have shown that dogs are more comfortable when traveling in EVs, which is why Genesis chose the zero-emission version of the GV70 as a base for this project. The model features dual electric motors producing a combined 483 hp (360 kW) and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) while the 77.4 kWh battery pack offers 445 km (276 miles) of range between charges.

Genesis recently unveiled the facelifted version of the ICE-powered GV70 with mild exterior tweaks and a massive 27-inch display. Chances are that the Genesis Electrified GV70 will benefit from similar updates in the near future.
