- The car is finished in black and gold, featuring the British driver’s racing number
- The 499P Modificata is an unrestricted version of the 24 Hours of Le Mans winner
- Hamilton is no stranger to owning multi-million dollar exotics
This is one of the first privately-owned Ferrari 499P Modificata’s built by the Italian carmaker and it could be destined for the garage of its latest F1 signing, Lewis Hamilton.
Ferrari unveiled the 499P Modificata in October last year to celebrate its historic victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The car is almost identical to the endurance racer from Le Mans but has even more power given it doesn’t need to comply with the balance of performance requirements. Prices start at an eye-watering €5.1 million and include two years of on-track support at Ferrari-organized events through its new Sport Prototipo Clienti program.

The exterior of this 499P Modificata is finished in gloss black, combined with plenty of gold elements, including across the cabin, the side sills, and the rear wing. It also has number ‘44’ graphics on the hood and to both sides. 44 is Lewis Hamilton’s racing number, leading some to suggest he may be the owner of this particular example. Either that or a Ferrari customer thought they’d celebrate his F1 signing with a tribute car.
Hamilton has owned several exotics over the years, including the one-off Pagani Zonda 760LH. We’re unaware of any cars he has personally owned finished in the same color combination but in 2014, Mercedes-Benz did introduce a limited-run version of the SL 63 AMG finished in matte black and gold to celebrate Hamilton’s F1 title that year.
In addition, Hamilton’s character from the 2011 Cars 2 film was finished in black and gold and the race car driven by Brad Pitt in his upcoming F1 movie, produced by the 7-time F1 champion, is also painted in the same colors.
Regardless of whether or not Hamilton owns this Ferrari 499P Modificata, we can only imagine how crazy the driving experience will be behind the wheel of an actual Le Mans-winning car.
