While the automaker has yet to detail the Wagoneer S officially, it’s already shown it in full and confirmed that its electric powertrain packs up to 600 hp and 617 lb-ft (836 Nm). With a one-foot rollout, this allows it to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 3.4 seconds. That means it’s slightly quicker than the old Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, one of the most insane super SUVs released in recent memory.

Auto News learned of Jeep’s plan to build the Wagoneer S in Mexico from an unnamed source. Further details about Jeep’s production plans should be announced at the SUV’s launch.

New Jeep Wagoneer S Will Be Made In Mexico

It’s not just the electric Jeep’s straight-line performance that should get shoppers excited. While Jeep hasn’t specified the size of its battery pack, it has said it’ll travel more than 300 miles (483 km) on a charge, surpassing the 279-mile (449 km) range of the Tesla Model Y Performance, which offers similar acceleration.

We also know the Wagoneer S will include a digital instrument cluster, a display dedicated to front-seat passengers, a panoramic sunroof, and a 19-speaker McIntosh audio system.

Like all Jeeps, the Wagoneer S will offer some rugged credentials and include Sand, Snow, Eco, Auto, and Sport drive modes. After launching in the U.S. and Canada, it will be sold in other markets around the world as well.
