• The Acura ZDX benefits from $7,500 in federal tax credits, and a $2,875 “launch lease support” incentive.
  • People interested in leasing the new EV could also get a $1,000 bonus if they’re already driving an Acura or a Tesla.
  • The discounts mean that despite having a larger MSRP than the Acura MDX, the ZDX could cost less per month to lease.

Acura just started delivering its first all-electric model to American customers, and already it’s offering attractive discounts on the ZDX. The deals are particularly good for lessees, who could benefit from more than $11,000 in discounts, depending on what they drive to the dealership in.

According to the Department of Energy, the ZDX is eligible for $7,500 in federal tax credits whether a customer decides to lease it or buy it. When it comes to leasing, the financial company offering the vehicle through leasing is technically the party that receives the credit, but in the case of the ZDX, Acura is passing along the full value of the incentive to lessees.

Acura is entering a very competitive EV market, so it’s also offering a Launch Lease Support program worth $2,875, per a dealer bulletin seen by Cars Direct. That brings the value of potential discounts up to $10,375 for the ZDX A-Spec.

In the great tradition of infomercial pitchmen, Acura says, “but wait, there’s more!” The automaker is offering a $1,000 discount on the ZDX to current Tesla owners, or a $1,000 loyalty discount to current Acura lessees, bringing the possible savings up to $11,375.

All of the discounts mean that the ZDX could be cheaper to own than the MDX, despite having a higher MSRP. Although the EV’s suggested price is $65,850, the discounts bring the effective monthly cost of leasing it down to $749, as compared to the internal combustion SUV (with Tech Package), which has an MSRP of $58,400, and an effective monthly cost of $770.

Based on General Motors’ Ultium EV platform, the Acura ZDX A-Spec features a single electric motor that sends 340 hp (254 kW / 345 PS) to the rear wheels (a twin-motor Type S model is available with 500 hp [373 kW / 507 PS]). Thanks to a 102 kWh battery pack that offers up to 325 miles (523 km) of range.
