- The design of the 2025 Navigator takes inspiration from the smaller Nautilus.
- Updated LED headlights and taillights immediately catch the eye.
- The current model’s twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 could stick around.
Lincoln has been producing the current fourth-generation Navigator since 2017, and although it received a refresh in 2022, a more substantial update is just around the corner. Carscoops reader Sach Mathur recently came across a prototype of the new model in Fort Myers, Florida, and it features far less camouflage than other prototypes snapped in recent months.
An overhauled front fascia immediately makes the new Navigator stand out from the model it replaces. Gone are the big and bulky headlights, and in their place sit much slimmer units that are more similar to those of the smaller Lincoln Nautilus. These new headlights incorporate LED daytime running lights and connect to a piece of black trim running across the front grille on this prototype.

Like the current model, the 2025 Lincoln Navigator has a big grille, but the new model ditches the chrome piece in favor of a slightly more angular and muscular look. Lincoln has also revised the lower grille section of the bumper, enlarging it and adding more gloss black plastic. As with the existing Navigator, a piece of black trim protrudes from beneath the bumper.
Mathur was able to snap a photo of the new model’s rear-end too, and while it’s blurry, he says the prototype had very similar taillights to the Nautilus and included an LED light bar. This design is a far cry from the rear of the Navigator we’re familiar with and should complement the more stylish front end nicely.
While we now have a good idea of what the exterior of the 2025 Navigator will look like, fewer details are known about its interior. Speculation suggests it may adopt a design similar to the 2024 Nautilus, featuring a 48-inch display spanning the full width of the dashboard and a smaller infotainment screen positioned closer to the driver. Additionally, new color and trim options are expected to refresh the design.
Lincoln currently sells the Navigator with a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 with 440 hp and 510 lb-ft (691 Nm) of torque. We expect this engine to be carried through to the 2025 model.
Many thanks to Sach Mathur for sending us these photos!
