Nissan didn’t give a hoot about the previous-generation Frontier as it went largely unchanged for more than a decade. Thankfully, that’s no longer the case as the company is preparing an extensive update for the redesigned truck, which was introduced in 2021.
An anonymous tipster sent us a photo of the facelifted pickup, although there isn’t much to see other than some camouflage. While that’s disappointing, the model will reportedly receive a new grille, updated bumpers, and a revised tailgate. An insider also told us the truck will have a new orange paint color as well as a PRO-X variant with a long bed.

While the Frontier is only a few years old, its interior feels positively ancient thanks to small 8- and 9-inch infotainment systems. They’ll reportedly be replaced by an all-new system that features Google built-in as well as a significantly larger display. The exact size is up for debate, but our sources says it will measure at least 12 inches.
Besides the modern infotainment system, the truck will reportedly be equipped with a revised dashboard and new air vents. Our tipster also suggested we can expect updated safety tech.
The facelifted Frontier is expected to arrive for the 2025 model year and have a familiar powertrain. As a result, we can expect a 3.8-liter V6 with 310 hp (231 kW / 314 PS) and 281 lb-ft (381 Nm) of torque. It’s connected to a nine-speed automatic transmission, which can be paired to an optional four-wheel drive system.
