Volkswagen recently announced a facelifted Jetta and Jetta GLI would be introduced shortly and now we have a date as both models will debut on June 25 at 9 a.m. ET. They’ll then arrive at dealerships by the end of the third quarter.
While the company is staying tight-lipped, they released a teaser image that appears to show the Jetta GLI. It reveals the model will have a new front bumper and a honeycomb mesh intake. We can also see “Let’s Go” messaging next to a highway and bridge graphic.

That’s not much to go on, but previous pictures have revealed the model will have a slender grille with an illuminated lower bar. They’ll be joined by new lighting units and a modernized interior. The latter features a revised dashboard as well as a new infotainment system.
Interestingly, images of the facelifted Jetta GLI surfaced on Reddit over a month ago but flew under the radar. However, they appear to be genuine judging by the teaser and spy photos.
It remains unclear if there will be any changes under the hood, but the current Jetta has a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 158 hp (118 kW / 160 PS) and 184 lb-ft (249 Nm) of torque. The GLI is significantly more powerful as its turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder pumps out 228 hp (170 kW / 231 PS) and 258 lb-ft (349 Nm) of torque.
Supposed 2025 GLI leaks. Thoughts?
