• Acura’s sales are down 11.3 percent for the first five months of 2024.
  • The brand’s sedan lineup of the TLX and Integra has seen a sharp decline, with a drop of 37.8 percent in May 2024 vs May 2023.
  • The new 2024 ZDX EV starts deliveries with 83 units in May.

Update: A Honda spokesperson reached out to us to address the decline in sales of the Acura TLX, Integra, and Honda Accord, all built at the Marysville Auto Plant in Ohio.

“These declines are not due to demand plummeting, but were expected impacts due to the significant reconfiguration of our Marysville Auto Plant where they are all built. We’re combining lines 1 & 2 into one line,” the spokesperson explained.

We’ve asked Honda to clarify when these factory changes began affecting production and availability of the Accord, TLX, and Integra models, and how long these disruptions are expected to last. We’ll update this story when Honda responds.

In the meantime, we checked Cars.com and Autotrader.com, where we found 425 and 489 listings for new 2024 Acura TLX sedans and 2,464 and 3,438 listings for new 2024 Integra models nationwide.

Original story follows below.

It’s more bad news for fans of four-door sedans as two of Acura’s most popular family cars have taken a further pummeling in recently released sales figures. For starters, Acura’s revived Integra nameplate isn’t doing as well as we’d have hoped, with sales down 8.7% (or -12.2% DSR – Daily Selling Rate) in May compared to the same time last year. But that’s nothing compared to the TLX’s spectacular slowdown in sales, dropping a whopping 75.5 percent.

Acura’s sales start in 2024 have been poor, with 53,658 units sold in the first five months of the year compared to 60,471 deliveries during the same period in 2023. That includes 15,194 cars and 38,464 trucks, an overall decrease of 11.3 percent across the board.

Acura’s car sales are down 28.9 percent, with a large portion of that being due to the Acura TLX fall in popularity. Dealers could only manage to sell 532 units of the TLX in May 2024, compared with 1,576 units in May 2023. It’s not the first time the TLX has been the subject of poor sales this year, with last month’s figures showing a similar performance.

And, although the smaller Integra has sold more units than its bigger brother, sales of that car too are in a downward spiral, with 17.6 percent fewer ‘Tegs being sold in the first five months of the year. However, Acura reports that May has been the best month all year for the Integra, and it leads competitors with a segment share of over 40 percent.

Perhaps telling of Acura’s troubles, May has been the brand’s best-performing month in terms of sales in 2024, but it’s still 7 percent less than May 2023’s figures. Numbers are being helped with stronger performances from Acura’s SUVs, with the MDX improving in May 2024 vs May 2023 by 6.5 percent, but 2024’s total units up from January through May are still 19.9 percent shy of last year’s performance.

One model that has seen growth is the Acura RDX, with 38.2 percent more sales in the first five months of the year than in the same period in 2023. Also notable is the first units of the Acura ZDX have begun making their way into the wild, with 83 deliveries reported in May.
