There’s no off-roader quite like a classic Land Rover Defender. Indeed, so many people love it that when Land Rover decided to replace it with an all-new model, chemicals giant Ineos spent billions forming a new company to build a spiritual successor to it; the Grenadier. While the Ineos creation is impressive, we’re not sure it has the same cool factor as this 1993 Defender 110 Pickup.
This classic Defender was imported into the U.S. in 2020 and in late 2022, traded hands for $130,876 on Bring a Trailer. It has reappeared on the popular auction site and is looking for a new home. As far as modified Defenders go, this is one of the most eye-catching we’ve seen.

Shortly after landing on U.S. soil, the Defender was extensively upgraded by HHH Heritage in Wisconsin. The original engine was removed and in its place sits a 6.2-liter naturally-aspirated LS3 V8 and a six-speed automatic transmission. This V8 includes a custom intake, a high-performance radiator, and a Magnaflow exhaust that lacks catalytic converters. While the lack of cats will make it difficult to title in California, it currently has a clean Oregon title.
HHH Heritage has complemented the V8 with an 6L80 six-speed automatic transmission, a dual-range transfer case, custom prop shafts, new axles, and a locking center differential.
Visually, this Defender has been resprayed in gloss black and includes new fender flares, front and rear bumpers, and side steps. It also features an external roll cage, LED headlights, and sits on 18-inch wheels with 33-inch Nitto Trail Grappler M/T tires.
The off-roader may be 33 years old, but the interior has been updated to make it feel more modern. For example, there’s a new Alpine infotainment display, aftermarket speakers, a new steering wheel, and air conditioning. It even features a push-button start. True mileage details aren’t known, but it has been driven just 700 miles (1,126 km) since the V8 conversion and may sell for six figures for the second time.
If this Land Rover Defender tickles your fancy, head on over to Bring a Trailer to place a bid before time runs out.
