• The drop-top Ferrari 296 follows the example of the coupe with a Novitec tuning package.
  • The electrified powertrain got a power boost to 856 hp.
  • Upgrades also include carbon fiber aero bits, forged wheels, and sports springs.

The Ferrari 296 GTS is the latest supercar from Maranello to receive the Novitec treatment, following the example of the 296 GTB coupe from last year. The electrified exotic benefits from a modest power boost, discreet carbon fiber add-ons, new wheels, a lowered suspension, and a louder exhaust which can be better enjoyed with the roof down.

Starting with the exterior, Novitec stays true to its subtle approach to Ferrari tuning. The front lip, side skirts, mirror caps, side intake garnish, diffuser, and ducktail spoiler are made of naked carbon, with a high-gloss sealer finish. The tuner even offers a cover for the rearview camera with a matching look.

All that carbon is cool but the most striking element is the new Novitec NF10 alloy wheels produced in collaboration with Vossen. They measure 21 inches at the front and 22 inches at the rear, featuring five double spokes and 72 available color options with a brushed or polished surface finish.

Furthermore, a set of sports springs brings the supercar closer to the ground by 35 mm (1.4 inches), enhancing its low stance and handling credentials. To protect the carbon fiber bits, Novitec added a hydraulic system that raises the front axle by 40 mm (1.6 inches).

Novitec

As for the plug-in hybrid powertrain of the Ferrari 296 GTS, Novitec brings the combined output from the stock 819 hp (611 kW / 830 PS), to a healthier 856 hp (638 kW / 868 PS). Of course, the MGU-K electric motor remains intact, and all of the extra 38 hp (28 kW / 38 PS) comes from the twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 powertrain.

The power boost was achieved with the help of flow-optimized turbo inlets, and the high-performance exhaust with 100-cell sports catalysts. The latter goes much deeper than the dual 102-mm (4 inches) tailpipes, available in carbon coating or 999 fine gold plating. Depending on the configuration, the exhaust system can be made from stainless steel or Inconel. It also offers greater thermal insulation and is available with actively controlled butterfly valves.

Last but not least, Novitec can freshen up the interior of your Ferrari 296 GTS with new leather and Alcantara upholstery in any desired color.

As always, the tuner published a video with a presentation of the modified supercar, detailing all of the available upgrades.
