- The Fiat Topolino served as a base for the latest Castagna Milano coachbuilt special.
- The EV goes roofless and doorless while adopting high-quality materials for the exposed cabin.
- The long-tail version adds more style and practicality to the mix.
Castagna Milano, known for the “Spiaggina” conversions of the Fiat 500, offers a similar package for the smaller Fiat Topolino EV. The coachbuilt version of the Topolino enhances the open-air feeling with a removable canvas top while adding an optional long tail with a yacht-style rear deck.
The Milanese firm chose the summer solstice of June 21 to reveal the special Topolino, which looks like the perfect ride for the beach. Fiat already offers a convertible version of its heavy quadricycle with a retractable roof and no doors, but Castagna Minano’s conversion takes open-air driving to another level.

The company completely removed the roof and pillars of the two-seater EV, following the recipe of the classic 500 Jolly Spiaggina. The exterior also features fender extensions, and the side sills and the rear deck are covered by high-quality wood panels and sport aluminum handles, introducing Topolino owners to the world of luxury yachts.
For those who want to carry more stuff at the back, the company offers the option of a longer tail. This stretches the rear overhang by 300 mm (11.8 inches), making room for a small but spacious rear bed. The cabin is upholstered in premium materials, with a removable fabric cover protecting it from the elements.
The beach-friendly Topolino retains the stock electric motor with 8 hp (6 kW / 8 PS), and the 5.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The standard model has a WLTP range of 47 miles (75 km), which is more than enough for driving around the premises of an all-inclusive hotel.
The cost of the conversion starts from €25,000 ($26,746), or from €35,000 ($37,445) for the longer version. This might sound like an expensive treat for a tiny EV that costs as little as €7,544 ($8,071) in Italy.
Interestingly, this is not the first electric heavy quadricycle that benefits from the Castagna Milano treatment – the company recently unveiled a Citroen Ami with a unique spec, matching the owner’s Aston Martin DBS Superleggera.
