- Classic Ford models are brought back either in “continuation” or in “remastered” forms, following a brand license agreement with the automotive giant.
- The first two projects will be a blueprint-accurate copy of the MK1 Escort and a remastered version of the RS200.
- The company said that at least five further iconic Ford models will follow in the coming years.
Fans of classic rally cars rejoice, Boreham Motorworks will bring back the classic Ford MK1 Escort Group 5, and the RS200 Group B monster. The limited production runs of the “continuation and remastered series” is officially licensed by Ford, with the final products set to offer a “peak analogue driving experience”.
Boreham Motorworks is a member of the DRVN Automotive Group specializing in classic models and has signed a brand license agreement with Ford. The company will offer two different kinds of products – the “entirely new icons” built from the ground up as modern reincarnations, and the “period-sympathetic, blueprint-accurate continuation vehicles”.

The Ford RS200 will be the first of the “ground-up builds”, set to debut just in time for the 40th anniversary of the original. The company confirmed that the new iteration will retain the mid-engined layout, advanced four-wheel-drive system, and lightweight composite body of the RS200, without getting into specifics about the chassis and the powertrain.
The teaser shows the road-legal version of the Group B monster alongside a covered prototype of the new RS200, letting the modern LED graphics for the round headlights shine through. Judging from similar restomods like the Kimera Automobili EVO38, the reborn Ford RS200 could benefit from several enhancements in the design, equipment, and performance.

The other model is an accurate reproduction of the Ford Escort MK1 from the late ’60s, which will be shown to the public later this year. This one will mirror the Group 5 specification of the classic Escort, staying true to the blueprints of the original. The partnership with Ford even allowed Boreham Motorworks to apply continuation VINs, increasing the value of the reborn Escort in the classic car market.
Darren McDermott, Executive Chairman, DRVN Automotive Group said: “We aim to redefine automotive innovation and push the boundaries in terms of driver engagement and design. Our shared commitment to this incredible project will create an outstanding analogue driving experience and leave a lasting legacy for the true petrolhead.”
Boreham Motorworks is already accepting registrations for the “very limited” production runs of the MK1 Escort and the RS200 through their official website. Pricing and the final production numbers have yet to be disclosed but interested parties must be able to take delivery in one of the following regions: USA, Canada, South America, UK, Europe, Middle East, or Asia.
More “Remastered” Ford Classics Coming Soon
Interestingly, the Escort and the RS200 are only the first two in “a series of iconic Ford vehicles” coming in the next few years. Boreham Motorworks didn’t announce details about the next projects, but said they will be”at least five further models”, selected among Ford’s “most historically significant road, race, and rally icons”.
Luckily, there are plenty of cool options to choose from – including the GT40, Capri, Sierra Cosworth, and the original Ford Focus RS WRC – making us really excited about the future of this venture.
