Genesis announced the Track Taxi Nordschleife program, offering passenger rides around the Green Hell in a G70 sedan.

While a performance model from the Magma program would sound a lot more fitting for the Nurburgring, none of these have been officially unveiled for production. This prompted the company to choose a specially modified G70 for the Track Taxi role, dressing it in a Magma-inspired orange livery with black graphics.

The Genesis G70 Track Taxi features “enhancements” on its suspension and dampers, in collaboration with the Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Centre (HMETC) at Russelsheim. To avoid overheating issues on the track, Genesis engineers added extra brake ducts, and heat shields on the transmission oil cooling lines. Furthermore, thanks to a partnership with Michelin, the Track Taxi rides on stickier Pilot Sport 4S tires.

The Korean sedan didn’t receive any performance modifications. However, Genesis chose the most potent turbocharged 3.3-liter T-GDi engine, which is good for a respectable 368 hp (274 kW / 373 PS) and 510 Nm (376 lb-ft) of torque.

The Genesis Track Taxi Nordschleife program was launched on June 18 at the Nurburgring, with a special event hosted by racing driver Jacky Ickx. Passengers will be able to enjoy the full 20.832 km (12.9 miles) long track, with the 73 corners and the changing road surfaces, in the hands of experienced drivers.

Luc Donckerwolke, Chief Creative Officer at Genesis, said: “The launch of the Genesis Track Taxi Nordschleife programme marks an important milestone in our journey to delivering bold high-performance cars, showcasing the power, handling and performance that the brand can offer.”

According to the official website, the experience costs €120 ($128) and can be booked for weekends from July 6 onwards. The ride gets cheaper if you want to bring friends with you, as Genesis charges €40 ($43) for the third passenger and another €20 ($21) for the fourth.
