It seems that the world of vehicle customization and bespoke features is exciting not only for buyers of luxury models but also for robust off-roaders like the Ineos Grenadier. For customers who want more exclusivity, Ineos introduced the “Arcane Works” service, creating limited-editions of the Grenadier with custom detailing, bespoke materials, as well as power and chassis upgrades.
The word arcane stands for “known or understood by very few, mysterious, secret”, communicating the exclusivity of the products. According to Ineos, “each run of limited-edition vehicles will showcase a unique set of features, introduce new technologies and carry a specifically tailored name”.

Customers will have the option of new materials, finishes, and countless colors for the exterior and interior, making their Grenadier stand out from the crowd. If the expanded color palette isn’t enough, Ineos will even match the color of your liking using special technology. Interestingly, the press release mentions only the station wagon (SUV) bodystyle of the Grenadier, leaving the Quartermaster pickup out of the equation.
As with the regular Grenadier, the Arcane Works examples will be available with two BMW-sourced 3.0-liter straight-six engines – the B57 diesel and the B58 gasoline. However, owners will have the option of upgrading the powertrains and the ladder frame chassis for greater performance and off-road capabilities. In this context, Ineos will use the Arcane Works program as a test bed for future models.
George Ratcliffe, Commercial Director of Ineos Automotive, said: “Arcane Works is intended to create a truly individual 4×4, hand finished with exclusive materials and personalized touches by specially curated craftsmen. We know this is something our customers have been looking for and working in small batches means we can give them a genuinely custom-made experience. That’s why we chose the name Arcane as the vehicles will be so unique as to be rarely spotted in the wild.”
Ineos confirmed that the first limited edition vehicle from Arcane Works will debut at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed in July. Those who would like a highly personalized Grenadier can fill out an interest form on the company’s official website.
Earlier this month, Ineos introduced the Grenadier 1924 Limited Edition, celebrating 100 years of the British clothing firm Belstaff. This model came with unique exterior and interior features but is not part of the Arcane Works program.
