Following a preview in April, Citroen has fully detailed the new C3 Aircross. It’s a fun and affordable crossover that offers petrol, hybrid, and electric powertrains.
Since we’ve already seen the model, let’s jump right into specifications. Kicking things off is an entry-level variant with a PureTech Turbo petrol engine developing 101 hp (75 kW / 102 PS). It complies with Euro7 standards and is connected to a six-speed manual transmission.

Customers looking for something more eco-friendly can opt for a hybrid variant, which has a 1.2-liter PureTech three-cylinder engine developing 134 hp (100 kW / 136 PS). It’s joined by a dual-clutch transmission, which has an integrated 28 hp (21 kW / 29 PS) electric motor that is powered by a 48V lithium-ion battery housed beneath the floor.
The big news is an electric variant, which has a 44 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery that powers a 111 hp (83 kW / 113 PS) electric motor. Citroen said this gives the crossover a top speed of 90 mph (145 km/h) and a range in excess of 186 miles (300 km).
When the battery is low, a 100 kW DC fast charger can take it from 20% to 80% in just 26 minutes. At home, you’re looking at between 2 hours 50 minutes and 4 hours 10 minutes for the same result using AC power.
While the EV won’t appeal to everyone, Citroen announced another variant will arrive in 2025. The company didn’t say much about it, but promised a range in excess of 249 miles (400 km).
Putting powertrains aside, the second-generation C3 Aircross was designed to be a “real SUV.” As a result, it’s “more assertive, more muscular, and more robust.”
This isn’t just marketing hyperbole as the crossover adopts a rugged new design that incorporates plastic body cladding and chunky fenders. The model is also significantly larger than its predecessor as it now measures 172.8 inches (4,390 mm) long and has a wheelbase that spans 105.1 inches (2,670 mm). On top of that, the crossover now has more than 7.9 inches (200 mm) of ground clearance.
Citroen didn’t go into many specifics, but buyers will find LED headlights and 16- or 17-inch wheels. They’re joined by massive new logos as well as front and rear “clips” that customers can change at will. The latter will be offered in a variety of different colors.
The cabin is a little basic, but it features a minimalist design as well as five- and seven-seat configurations. Speaking of the latter, the model now has Citroen Advanced Comfort seats featuring an extra 0.4 to 0.6 inches (10 to 15 mm) of foam.
Other highlights include a tiny digital instrument cluster, a “reduced-size” two-spoke steering wheel, and a 10.25-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The model also sports air conditioning and a 15W wireless smartphone charger.
Safety is front and center thanks to an assortment of systems including Active Safety Brake, Active Lane Keeping Assist, and Driver Alert. They’re joined by Speed Sign Recognition, High Beam Assistance, Blind Spot Detection, a rearview camera, and front / rear parking sensors.
Citroen also noted their Advanced Comfort suspension comes standard and has dual progressive hydraulic bump stops. The company says these “act like a second smaller shock absorber” to further improve comfort.
The C3 Aircross is currently available to order in France, where pricing starts at €19,400 for the petrol variant. The hybrid will set you back €25,500 while the EV begins at €27,400.
