- A Porsche Panamera flew off a parking lot in the Bronx, landing upside down.
- The vehicle crashed into the concrete wall, causing a significant portion of it to collapse.
- The driver fled the scene before authorities arrived and remains unidentified.
A bizarre incident unfolded in the Bronx on Sunday, when a Porsche Panamera crashed through the concrete walls of a parking lot, ending up overturned in a fenced grassy area nearby. Adding to the intrigue, the driver was mysteriously absent from the scene but reportedly surfaced later at a hospital emergency room, nursing minor injuries from the airborne escapade.
According to the New York Police Department, the Porsche was wrecked in the early hours of Sunday morning. The vehicle careened off the second level of the Target parking lot at 10 West 225th Street in the Marble Hill area. Before its dramatic 20-foot (6 m) descent to the ground below, the Porsche plowed into the parking deck walls, causing a significant portion of the concrete structure to collapse.

Photos from the scene show the first-gen Panamera resting on its roof, with bundles of cash and a smartphone left on its belly before authorities towed it away. The sports sedan appears to be totaled, as its roof structure partially collapsed into the cabin.
The owner of the blue Porsche Panamera, who apparently was not driving the vehicle when the accident happened, spoke to ABC 7 New York, saying that she was “very upset” about the incident. She reportedly traveled to New York from Pennsylvania after being contacted by the parking lot regarding the damage. “It’s my vehicle – like, paid money for it,” she said.
The identity of the driver behind the wheel of the blue Porsche Panamera at the time of the accident remains unclear. However, the news station also spoke with an emergency room worker who claims an individual admitting involvement in the accident walked into the hospital earlier that day. This unidentified person, allegedly the driver of the Porsche, sustained injuries, though fortunately not as severe as the extensive damage to the vehicle might suggest.
While the investigation is still ongoing, authorities closed off the section of the parking garage’s wall that had collapsed, blocking the hole with a van. The city’s department of building said that the collision didn’t affect the stability of the shopping center, although the owners will now hire an engineer to compile a detailed structural report.
