- A Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet was recently discovered partially submerged in a canal.
- Authorities in Florida don’t have many answers as the car was unoccupied and apparently abandoned.
Police in Miramar, Florida recently came across an unusual sight. A Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet in a canal.
In social media posts, the Miramar Police Department said the car was found “partially submerged in a canal near SW 132nd Avenue, just south of Old Miramar Parkway.” The vehicle was discovered unoccupied and apparently abandoned as “no one was located in the canal or surrounding areas.”

Needless to say, an investigation was launched and local media reported authorities had been attempting to contact the owner of the Porsche. There’s no word on what happened, but the car was eventually pulled from the canal and hauled away from the scene.
Regardless of what caused the accident, it likely was an expensive crash. While details are hazy at best, a new 911 Turbo S Cabriolet will set you back $243,200 before a $1,650 destination fee and a $1,300 gas guzzler tax.
However, it’s easy to spend thousands – if not tens of thousands – more on upgrades and options. As an example, you can get titanium wheel bolts for $1,570 or a Heritage Design Package for $7,970. Customers can also opt for a $10,680 Exclusive Manufaktur Leather Interior and an $11,200 Sport Package. That’s just scratching the surface as the company also offers $540 colored seat belts, $630 aluminum pedals, and a $2,000 adaptive cruise control system.
Of course, this is hardly the first 911 to take a splash as they’re effectively the Mustang of the rich and famous.
