- The owner purchased a pair of Model S EVs when Tesla offered free Supercharging for life.
- His highest-mileage Tesla, a black 90D with over 430,000 miles (700,000 km) has never had a service.
- Despite extensive use and frequent Supercharging, the battery has only lost about 65 miles (105 km) of range.
The man behind a private chauffeur service in the UK owns a Tesla Model S with over 430,000 miles (~692,000 km) on the original battery pack. Remarkably, he doesn’t have to pay to use any of the firm’s Superchargers.
The black Model S in question is owned by Paul, who, in 2016, decided he wanted to start an airport taxi service with an environmental twist. Rory Reid from AutoTrader UK recently visited Paul to check out his black Model S and, in subsequent videos, will put it through a series of tests to see how it has aged and how well it still performs.

When Paul purchased this Model S 90D, Tesla offered free Supercharging for the life of the car. For someone running a taxi service that requires driving for much of the day, that’s an incredible perk. Paul believes he saves between £7,000 (~$8,900) and £10,000 (~$12,700) in Supercharging costs per year for each of the two Model Ss he owns.
However, it’s not just the charging savings that are deeply impressive. After all these years, Paul’s black Model S P90D still has its original battery and almost half a million miles. He says it’s lost about 65 miles (~105 km) of range, or roughly 23% of what it originally had. That’s not bad, considering he uses a Supercharger multiple times daily and always charges it to 100%.
As you’d imagine, the car shows some signs of heavy use. The front fascia is covered in stone chips and Paul acknowledges that it’s had a couple of resprays. Soon after buying the car, he also had an incident with the Autopilot system, which steered him into a bunch of cones, causing several thousands of dollars’ worth of damage that had to be repaired.
However, he has avoided performing any proper services on the car, meaning all of the original fluids are still in the car. He says that all he has done is perform preventative maintenance.
Stay tuned to the AutoTrader channel on YouTube in the coming weeks to see Reid putting Paul’s Model S through its paces and see how well it’s aged over the past eight years.
