- TOM’S has introduced a new styling package for the Toyota Prius in Japan.
- It consists of a new front spoiler, revised side skirts, and a rear diffuser.
- Pricing starts at ¥299,000 and you can add an exhaust system for ¥265,000 more.
Toyota did the unthinkable with the fifth-generation Prius as they transformed the model into a sporty and stylish hybrid. It was a welcome change and the design has been almost universally praised.
However, if the standard look isn’t sporty enough, Tom’s Racing will release an assortment of new styling accessories on July 1. Kicking things off is a new front bumper treatment, which features a spoiler as well as new side ducts. The latter are functional and help to reduce air resistance.

Buyers can also get new side skirts, which have a sporty appearance and promise to improve “stability during high-speed driving.” Tom’s also offers a small rear diffuser, which aims to increase downforce.
The three components can be purchased individually or as part of a package. When going the latter route, pricing begins at ¥299,000 and climbs to ¥344,000 when painted.
If the accessories haven’t blown your budget, you can opt for a twin barrel exhaust that costs ¥265,000. The company didn’t say much about it, but noted the exhaust has a “sound that emphasizes bass resonance” and creates a “more sporty impression.”
Back in America, the 2024 Prius starts at $27,950 and has a hybridized 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine developing up to 196 hp (146 kW / 199 PS). Despite being far more powerful than its predecessor, the model is still eco-friendly as it returns up to 57 mpg combined.
